Finding time and the motivation for eating healthy and delicious foods when our busy schedules seem to be even more packed these days is a challenge.
Regardless of your chosen food plan, here are three steps to help keep you on track for a healthy mind, body and spirit through nutritious, delicious eating.
Decide why eating well is important to you. This simple visualization will be your go-to memory when the challenges of the day are looming.
Close your eyes in a quiet space and think about what eating nutritious food on a regular schedule means to you. Here are just a few of the many benefits a healthy eating plan could provide:
If you don’t find your most important motivation on this list, add your own. It’s critical that the reasons for placing a priority on eating well are yours and only yours. Otherwise your commitment will waiver with each obstacle encountered.
Develop a plan with measurable goals for success. Make the plan simple and livable for you and your family. It’s nearly impossible to have long term success if the plan doesn’t have some built in flexibility. There are tons of options, find what works for you and adjust as your needs change.
Whether you choose low carb, high fiber or anything in between, it’s always a good idea to check in with your family physician to make sure the plan you have chosen will fit with your current health needs.
Now this is the fun part. Celebrate progress, not perfection. I’ll say it again, celebrate progress!
Perfection is impossible, and the expectation will set you up for disappointment instead of joy.
Consider making the celebration something other than eating non-nutritious food. If you want to add to your healthy lifestyle, consider rewards that include physical activity you enjoy like sailing, hiking or golfing.
Cheers to your health!

One of my favorite games to play with a baby is peek-a-boo. The sound of a baby’s laughter at this silly game is a jolt of pure joy for me.
That’s how I felt when I received this photo from Jennifer Mouso, a jolt of pure joy… and it seems like the sun is playing peek-a-boo in this photo between the palm leaves.
Have a joyous day,

P.S. We’d love to share your photo and story behind it. Send to contact@Superpower365.com.
I was reluctant to participate when I saw the Facebook posts Me Too. It felt like I would be saying I’m a victim, and that’s not how I see myself.
After I read a few stories people shared about triumph, I realized it was time for me to shout from the tree tops…ME TOO!
This conversation is not about abuse or oppression. It’s about how our abilities to Rise Above them defines our lives and develops our Superpowers.
Courage to Rise Above fear
The fear that the abuse would not stop, the fear that no one would believe me, the fear that I would not be loved didn’t hold me back.
I didn’t know it at the time, but Courage was the Superpower ignited within me the day I took a stand and said no more to my childhood abuser.
Confidence to Rise Above shame
For me there was an undeniable feeling of shame that these unspeakable acts of a very sick individual even happened to me. What if it was my fault?
I had to hear it out loud, many times from someone I trusted, to finally believe that it wasn’t my fault. The Confidence I eventually found in standing up changed my life and the lives of those around me for good.
Forgiveness to Rise Above anger
Well if it wasn’t my fault, why did it happen to me? Where were my protectors? How dare they abandon me to this injustice!
Rising above this cloud requires activating many Superpowers, the first is Forgiveness.
The intentional act of Forgiveness brings a healing light into my soul.
Serenity to Rise Above despair
The Serenity Prayer has been the go-to mantra throughout my life when I feel conflicted, need direction or simply need to find peace with my own actions. Even when our actions are for good, it doesn’t always feel that way.
Serenity Prayer
“God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference.”
Thank you to everyone who posted Me Too. Action and Faith will help us all Rise Above.
Let’s Soar,

P.S. I’m obsessed with sharing beautiful sunrises from around the world and want to thank everyone who has sent one. The incredible sunrise photo in this post is courtesy of Ronda Henderson.
If you have a sunrise photo in your phone begging to be shared, send it to contact@superpowers365.com or PM us on Facebook. We’ll mention you in the photo and let you know when it posts.
This photo was taken by my daughter Melanie Reed on the last day of her vacation in Hilton Head, South Carolina a few years ago. The promise this sunrise kept was a special moment with her son (my grandson) watching the sun rise before everyone else woke up.
What occasion will you celebrate with the sun’s promise today?
Cheers to a new day,

P.S. Join us in sharing a sunrise from a new location every day. Send your photo and a description to contact@superpowers.com.
A feeling of peace washed over me as I gazed at this Gulf Shores, Alabama sunrise sent by my friend Brent Eskew.
It has been a while since I’ve seen him and am thrilled he is participating in sharing a daily sunrise on Superpowers365.com.
Brent served in the military for several years right out of high-school. I’m not sure I ever thanked him for his service, so I’m doing that now.
Take a moment today to thank the men and women who serve our country so that we may enjoy the Peace that comes with the freedoms they protect.
Peace be with you,

Check out the Somos Live! Benefit concert October 14, 2017. The sold-out concert will air on NBC, BET and other stations in support of hurricane relief efforts for the people of Puerto Rico.
Nothing in my life compares to the devastation people of Puerto Rico are experiencing in the aftermath of hurricane Maria this year.
This beautiful photograph was taken by Cipriana Williams just seven months before the hurricane destroyed the entire island. The sunrise is likely still just as glorious every day there. However, if the camera were turned in the other direction, we would see a dramatically different view.
“What happened in Texas and Florida were disasters,” said W. Craig Fugate, who was FEMA administrator under President Barack Obama. “What happened in Puerto Rico was a catastrophe.” Read more in this NY Times article.

My good friend Tammy Holyfield travels the country helping professionals reach their personal and professional goals.
When I opened this beautiful photo she sent me, I was in awe and am fascinated by the magic of every sunrise.
The sun rises and I am very grateful for that new, fresh start opportunity every day.
The sun rising is also an event experienced by everyone on the planet, even when we aren’t paying attention. I only seem to experience the beauty of the sun rising occasionally, so I decided to change that.
I’m gathering photos of sunrises from friends around the world. If you’d like to experience this magic, follow Superpowers365.com. I’ll share a new sunrise photo every day.
My goal is 365 different sunrise photos. I’ve received enough for 25 days so far.
If you’d like to send me one, you will receive photo credit and I’ll let you know when it is published.

Gratitude is one of the most shareable Superpowers you can activate today. Here are three ways to find yours and pass it on…
Yes, just one will do it.
Today I’m personally grateful that I can count on the sun to rise and inspire life no matter what is going on the world.
Yup, just one will do it today.
I am very fortunate and grateful for this wonderful person in my life who loves to make me laugh.
Tell them. Don’t keep it to yourself. Do they have a special talent, skill, gift that you admire or appreciate?
Since I don’t recall ever telling that special person I am so very grateful for his desire to and ability for making me laugh, today’s the day!
Imagine activating this Superpower as a habit every day.
Gratefully yours,
Debbie Donaldson
